My head is hung low.

When complaining to another mother about hoping for a new pitcher at the next game, since this one lost the game for the boys and they were so frustrated and disappointed, it is important to note that the woman you're talking to is not the guy's wife.

On second thought, I might oughta wanna keep that junk to myself.  Foot tastes nasty.  The Bible... it really does apply to real life.

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.
Proverbs 10:19 (ESV)

Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
 Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT)

  1. aw, Jodie, that's worse than when you introduced yourself to Gov. Blanco and didn't know who she was!

    Girl....

You'll look back on this in a year and laugh...

...but not in front of the pitcher's wife. :)

  2. Yep...that had to hurt a little. Yikes!! That's sort of like asking a sweet lady when her baby is due and her responding with..."I'm not pregnant!" yes...I've done that. :( Thank you Jesus that God is the God of DO-OVERS! :)

  3. Yes Holly, thank you for that reminder. I had almost forgotten about that shining moment. Maybe I'll become a recluse. Clearly, I am a danger to myself. Actually, I laughed at myself that day, but since then, all I do is cringe and groan. How do you clean up a mess like that? (How do you solve a problem like Maria?)

Tams: Oh yeah, it stung. I wanted to push the words right back into my mouth. I know you know that feeling. :) Thanks for sharing your blunder. :)

  4. I hate when that happens to me...And it drives me crazy for weeks after - where I just want to cringe and groan when I think about it...and I can't seem to stop thinking about it!! so I cringe and groan all the time!
I've really had to have the Lord help me through a few of my blunders like that...I could become very captive by thinking about it and analyzing it. All I can do is move on and be cautious of what comes out of my mouth! Some lessons are just not fun to learn at all...and I wish I didn't have to repeat this lesson as often as I do!!

  6. Oh, girl. You make me laugh - mainly, because these are the kinds of things that I find myself doing. :)

  7. Oops.....
But you're not alone - I do that all the time! And two relatives did that to me over the weekend too.

    Think. THEN speak.....*sigh*
